Dean's List
The Dean's List represents high academic achievement. Students recognized for the Dean's List during any given semester achieved a grade point average (GPA) greater than or equal to 3.5 (note: A=4.0; B=3.0; C=2.0; D=1.0).
Calculation of GPA. For example, a student takes five classes and 17 credits during the previous semester: classes 1, 2, and 3 are all three credits, classes 4 and 5 are four credit classes. Grades received are A, B, B, A, and A for each of the respective five classes. GPA is calculated as follows for the five classes (3 credits x 4 (A) = 12)+ (3 credits x 3 (B) =9) + (3 credits x 3.0 (B) = 9) + (4 credits x 4 (A) =16) + (4 credits x 4 (A) =16). Total points = 62. Divide 62 by total number of credits taken. 62/17= 3.647.
