Global Leaders of Business Entrepreneurship (GLOBE) introduces students to the basic principles of business through starting their own mock company in a systematic, engaging and fun way. The GLOBE program also grows leadership, communication, and networking skills through hands-on and real-world experiences. Students will have a mentor throughout the week to answer questions and guide students through the product competition.

What are the Activities?

You will participate in different business activities, hear from real entrepreneurs and take field trips to real businesses in the community. In 2008, some topics you should expect include:

  • Tour and a game with the Mankato Moondogs Baseball Team
  • Computer-based business development and simulation game
  • Trip to Mankato Growth Business Acceleration Offices
  • Free Time in campus Game Room (Bowling and Billiards)
  • ...and a lot more!!!

What is the GLOBE Challenge?

Your team will start a mock business, create a product with a budget and develop strategies to make your product succeed. Your team will then sell the products at a Mankato Moondogs baseball game and earn great rewards. Your team has an investor who wants YOU to succeed! Are you up to the GLOBE Challenge?

When & Where is GLOBE?

The GLOBE summer program runs from June 25-27, 2008. The program is conveniently located in Mankato, Minnesota off Interstate 169 on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus. During your stay, you will live in Residence Halls located on campus.

Who Can Attend?

GLOBE is intended for students who will be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grades. Students must show an interest in business, have an entrepreneurial mindset, be motivated to create a product and promote it at the end of the program to the local community.

How Much Does It Cost?

GLOBE is partially funded by great sponsors and organizations who keep your costs down. With this great funding, you only have to pay $145. Your fees cover everything including your meals, stay in the Residence Halls, program materials, group trips and other activities. Scholarships are available for those with financial needs.
