Students in the College of Business have an opportunity to participate in an E-Mentoring Program (mentoring through e-mail) with a College of Business Advisory Council member. The program is designed to make mentoring convenient for mentors and students alike, allowing participants to easily communicate on a regular basis via e-mail.
The goal of E-Mentoring is to help College of Business students gain an inside look into their area of career interest, build personal and professional contacts, and develop a supportive mentoring relationship with an e-mentor. The program also aims to provide an opportunity for alumni and friends of MSU to be involved with student success and stay connected to the University.
The College of Business facilitates a program from October-April, which matches mentors with current College of Business students. Students will be matched with a mentor according to their respective areas of career interests. Students and mentors will correspond via email. Participants will receive suggested "prompter" topics from the program coordinator on a regular basis. Students and mentors will have opportunities to meet face-to-face at the kick-off, wrap-up, shadow day, and mid-program events.
