COB Degree Requirements

Bulletin Expiration Policy:

The privilege of graduating under the requirements of an undergraduate bulletin extends no longer than seven years from the term of the student's original enrollment.

The requirements outlined in any bulletin becomes effective at the beginning of the fall semester of that academic year. Although no student can graduate under requirements outlined in a bulletin of more than seven years preceding the date of graduation, the student may elect to graduate under a more recent bulletin. However, students must complete all the requirements under a single bulletin, except for new programs.

Bulletin Change: BED 345 and 64 credit hour rule:

COB students are advised that BED 345 is not required for students following bulletins from 1998 or later.    Similarly, COB students are advised that 64 credits outside of the COB is not required for students following bulletins from 1998 or later.    These changes were formalized with the 2005-2006 bulletin but are also retroactive changes that affect students following catalogs from 1998 forward.  The Registrar's Office knows of these changes and will be following these changes as they do degree audits.  If you have a question about these changes, please contact the COB Advising Office (507-389-2963).

Note:
While specific requirements for a degree may expire or change, students never "lose" college credits they have earned. They may have to take additional coursework, or fulfill different requirements to obtain a degree under a new bulletin.
